Three Central Cascades Passes (2023-04-30)
Headed over to Eastern Washington yet again to explore some new terrain. Aside from some unkind drivers, I had a great time!

Whidbey Island (2024-04-01)
After finally convincing wife to ride with me again after years of my riding solo, we did a similar ride to my trip up Whidbey Island last time, differing mainly by having a stop in Langley and at West Beach. The weather was touch and go, but the showers didn't dampen my enthusiasm at all. I'm sure she also appreciated the heated jacket.

Kitsap Loop (2023-03-25)
My wife wasn't feeling up for a motorcycle ride together, so I did a solo ride by memory up the Kitsap Peninsula.

Moses Lake (2023-03-18)
I really wanted to head over to Eastern Washington after being "trapped" by the snow in the mountains for so long. After dealing with freezing temperatures, I was treated to the beautiful Yakima River Valley, followed by the flatlands of Eastern Washington that I've come to enjoy. I also had a nice time enjoying the small-town downtown of Moses Lake itself.

Whidbey Island (2023-03-11)
Since I didn't want to deal with snow, ice, and cold, I decided to stay near the water and head up Whidbey Island. This gave me the chance to get the photos at West Point that my wife and I didn't have the time to get at our wedding. I also made a quick stop at Kayak Point on the way back.

Mineral II (2023-02-11)
After the small disaster last time, I had to try to go to Mineral again. This time, thankfully, the roads were all clear and the weather was beautiful!

Slushy Road to Mineral (2023-01-22)
I wanted to finally check out the town of Mineral in Lewis County, and the roads seemed fine everywhere, but they ended up getting snowier the further up in elevation I went. By the time I hit the last road to get to the town, it was covered in slush and I went down maybe 100 feet after turning onto said road. Mineral will have to wait until the weather warms up a bit.
Even though the conditions weren't quite perfect for a long ride, I felt like I'd become rusty at motorcycle riding and really wanted to get into it. My rustiness really showed at the beginning of the ride, but I gradually felt into my usual groove.

Around Puget Sound (2022-10-15)
Went to the Olympic Peninsula the long way around to escape the smoke. Needless to say, it didn't quite work.
Albums from past rides:
Part of why I was so itching to go on this ride was because I wanted to try out the exposure bracketing feature on my camera. I would've greatly preferred going into the mountains, but that was unfortunately where the worst of the smoke was.

From Fire to Paradise (2022-09-10)
I originally intended to see White and Chinook passes, but the Goat Rocks fire forced me into Mount Rainier National Park. Needless to say, I wasn't too unhappy about it.
I'd always thought I'd see Paradise for the first time with my dad since he likes to ride motorcycles through Mount Rainier National Park, but things didn't turn out that way.

Aberdeen (2022-08-22,23)
What was supposed to be an overnight visit to a small city turned into quite a situation! My partner and I rode over on my Triumph, only for a nail to flat the rear tire. While that was getting resolved (see the blog post for more), we were limited to walking due to rideshare being pretty much unusable out there. And all of that walking really hammered home the sad state the city's old buildings were. Really sad such an old city is in such poor shape.

Artist Point (Mount Baker) (2022-08-13)
Rode to the end of the Mount Baker Highway.
While working on these photos, I was still learning how to properly handle white balance, so please be kind!

Descending Palouse to Cascades Trail (2022-07-30)
My partner and I had originally planned to ride the Snoqualmie Tunnel together, but she was too afraid of it. However, I was still able to follow our original plan and meet her in North Bend after riding the length of Iron Horse State Park.

Mountain Loop Highway (2022-07-16, 17)
I could keep up speed better than the cars.
This is my first album where every photo was processed from the RAW rather than the camera JPEG. I'm still learning the process and have since improved, but I decided to leave these largely alone since finishing the album.
When planning this ride, something that worried me was how Snohomish County said the gravel section of the Mountain Loop Highway was closed. I asked about this in a few places, and someone pointed me to the US Forest Service map, which showed it as open. Since I always had the option of turning back in the event the information was bogus, I went for it.

Hurricane Ridge (2022-06-19)
I'd been wanting to visit Hurricane Ridge for a while now, and the weather finally was good enough to do so!
Photos from past rides in the area:
My partner was along for this one, which was the first time in quite a while! Riding felt a bit awkward at first, but it didn't take me long to adjust.

North Cascades Highway (2022-05-30)
I wanted to experience familiar sights from the first few days of my 2015 bicycle tour. Seattle to Mazama and back in a day. What a ride!

Leavenworth (2022-05-22)
After visiting Leavenworth by train a few years back, I was very curious about the route between Stevens Pass and the town, so I headed out that way.

Roslyn and Cle Elum Lake (2022-05-21)
Headed over Snoqualmie Pass again to check out Roslyn, which had been on my list of places to see for a long time. The town was lovely. I also headed up to Cle Elum Lake and the Cle Elum River, despite the weather turning.
